Huachuma, Achuma, Wachuma, Aguacolla, San Pedro, (Echinopsis pachanoi syn. Trichocereus pachanoi), is a fast-growing, columnar psychedelic cactus endemic to the Andes Mountains, found in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador and Peru. The effects come primarily from the phenethylamine alkaloid mescaline, and has a long history of use in Andean traditional medicine dating back 2000 years. Effects typically last around 12 hours.
